The RAID Divemaster course is the gateway to a professional diving career. Ideal for passionate divers who want to take their hobby a step further and turn their career into a profession, this course offers comprehensive training with a modern, 100% digital approach, allowing you to develop your skills and stand out as a leader in the underwater world.

 

Throughout your training, you'll be challenged to hone your technical, teaching, and leadership skills, becoming a true mentor to new divers. With RAID, you'll have access to exclusive teaching materials, ongoing support, and globally recognized certification.

PREREQUISITES

What you need to participate

Candidates interested in taking the Divemaster course must:

 

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Be certified as a RAID Master Rescue or equivalent.

  • Have a minimum of 80 logged underwater hours or 150 logged dives.

  • Be certified as a RAID Nitrox and Deep 40 diver or equivalent.

  • Have proven experience in Navigation and Night Diving.

  • Present current approved Oxygen Administration and First Aid certifications.

  • Present a valid (12 months) medical statement signed by a licensed physician.

  • Submit a copy of the diving instructor's liability insurance, where applicable.

REGISTRATION

Mandatory before the Program

All Divemaster candidates MUST register on the RAID website and join the RAID PRO TRAINING Facility before enrolling in the Divemaster program. Also, add a passport-sized photo to your RAID profile.

 

Once this is completed, RAID will grant you access to the required online courses. It's advisable to do this as soon as possible to allow time to complete the quizzes and exams for the online course.

IMPORTANT: The above terms do not guarantee acceptance by RAID, which has the sole decision to accept or request that other requirements be met.

Divemaster participants will be required to provide the following:

  • Diver Ratings Report

  • Specialty Ratings Report (Deep and Mandatory Nitrox, Buoyancy)

  • Medical certificate (RSTC) updated and signed by a doctor

  • Liability Insurance – Only for locations where required by law

 

For Divemaster Crossovers, we need Scans or copies of the Divemaster Certificate (ACTIVE).

DOCUMENTATION

Mandatory before the Program

Once registered online, RAID will open all the necessary materials to operate as a RAID Divemaster.

 

The DIVEMASTER section and the OPEN WATER 20 section are mandatory. This section must be completed before the course.

We usually follow this pattern:

  • Try Dive

  • Open Water 20 (Level 1)

  • Explorer 30 (Level 2)

  • Advanced 35 (Level 2)

  • Master Rescue (Level 3)

  • Divemaster (Level 4)

  • Deep 40 Instructor

  • Nitrox Instructor

  • First Aid Instructor

  • Try Dive Instructor

 

Any other equivalent specialty programs will be included in your RAID profile (proof required).

 

Each candidate must bring their own laptop or device to the Crossover program.

MATERIALS

E-Learning

All Candidates must have all equipment (up-to-date maintenance) for use in the confined water session, including:

  • Adjust your clothing according to the environment and temperature.

  • BCD/ single backmount harness & handle.

  • Regulators typically used for recreational training and diving.

  • Flexible snorkel that can be clipped onto the mask strap

  • Dive computer

  • DSMB and spool with double carabiner

 

As a modern training agency, we prefer all our instructors to use the long hose system and train divers for primary donation, however, the long hose configuration is not mandatory.

 

Please bring the equipment you will train and dive with.

EQUIPMENT

RAID Standard

Before participating in the Divemaster program, Candidates MUST complete the DIVEMASTER and OPEN WATER 20 quizzes and exams and review the Instructor program at a minimum, ideally all programs provided to you must be completed.

 

The Crossover program includes the following components:

  • Training of the online teaching structure including quality assurance

  • How a Dive Center is accredited and how a Dive Center accredits an instructor.

  • How the student and instructor sign off on all confined water skills.

  • How a Diving Center verifies whether the student has satisfactorily completed the course and certifies it.

  • Using the online logbook.

  • Instructors will participate in a confined water session where specific RAID skills will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced.

  • Confined water presentations may be allocated based on instructor experience and Crossover agency.

Mandatory Procedure

FIRST AID CROSSOVER PROGRAM STRUCTURE

 

As part of the RAID Crossover program, candidates who hold a current first aid teaching qualification can participate in a RAID First Aid workshop. Upon successful completion of this workshop, instructors will be qualified to teach the RAID First Aid program.
